Gearld Fry, founder of the American Herbataurus Society is a grass-fed cattle genetics expert. He operates his own consulting business - Bovine Engineering & Consulting. His services are requested from beef and dairy producers across the nation and in Mexico and Canada.
Gearld was half of the partnership that imported the Rotokawa® Devon cattle from New Zealand back in 2003 in order to restore authentic grass-fed genetics to America’s pastures with hopes to revitalize the family farm and free them from the controls of commodity infrastructure.
Today he still raises cattle (Devon, American Herbataurus, & Angus) in Rose Bud, Arkansas and is getting to experience the fruits of his labor. He humbly admits that he has been able to create some of the best, well-adapted grass-fed genetics around.
"Laurel Hoffman from Pennsylvania is the Executive Administrator for the society and the cattle registry. Born a city girl, she claims country living must be in her blood. She is currently building her own herd of American Herbataurus cattle. Give her a holler if you need something or have questions.
Our membership is a loyal group of cattlemen & cattlewomen who share the same spirit to produce the best grass-fed beef possible.
